Join Us: The People’s Tribunal on U.S. Government Complicity in Gaza
Updated: Jul 20

Dear friends,
Many of us have watched the devastation in Gaza with heartbreak, outrage, and a deep sense of frustration. We have marched, organized, educated, written letters, contacted elected officials, and stood in solidarity with Palestinians calling for justice. Yet many people continue to ask the same question: What happens when those in power refuse to be held accountable?
On October 10, 2026, the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom US (WILPF US), Veterans For Peace (VFP), and American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) will convene the People’s Tribunal on U.S. Government Complicity in Gaza. Taking place in Seattle, Washington, and streaming live nationwide, the tribunal will invite a grand jury of community members to consider evidence, testimony, and legal analysis related to the role of the U.S. government, Administration, elected officials and judiciary in the ongoing crisis in Gaza.
As we organize the tribunal, we are collaborating with a local Palestinian advisory committee and liaising with members of WILPF Palestine to ensure Palestinian perspectives, lived realities and movement priorities inform the process.
At its heart, this tribunal is about education, accountability, and civic action. We believe that when official systems fail to provide accountability, the public has a responsibility to bear witness, seek truth, and act. Through facts, testimony, and dialogue, the tribunal will deepen public understanding of what is happening in Gaza, examine questions of legal and moral accountability, and create space for people to learn, reflect, engage, and act.
We are inviting WILPF branches, VFP chapters, AFSC Programs, Quaker communities, Palestinian organizations, and allies across the country to organize local watch events together. Whether you gather a few friends in your living room, host a discussion at a community center, organize a gathering at your place of worship, or convene a larger public event, your participation can help bring this conversation to your community.
Today, we invite you to learn more about the initiative and share it with your networks. In the months ahead, we will share toolkits, discussion guides, promotional materials, and ways to get involved. This tribunal is more than a single event. It is an opportunity to educate, connect, and build collective momentum for human rights, accountability, and peace. We hope you will join us.
